Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Train Operations Supervisor to oversee our remote operations, ensuring efficient train movement and adherence to safety protocols. In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of train operations, logistics, and regulatory compliance to enhance operational performance and contribute to our mission of delivering safe and reliable transportation services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily train operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety regulations
- Monitor and evaluate train performance metrics, implementing improvements where necessary
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including dispatchers, maintenance teams, and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth operations
- Lead incident response efforts, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and training materials to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Provide leadership and mentorship to operational staff, fostering a culture of safety and excellence
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in train operations or a related field, with a proven track record of supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of rail safety regulations and operational procedures
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in performance optimization
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience with safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with modern train control systems and technology
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of train management and scheduling software
- Understanding of data analysis tools to assess operational performance
- Experience with incident reporting and investigation software
