Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Toxicology to lead our toxicology efforts at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Lead the toxicology department, providing strategic direction and oversight for all toxicological studies and assessments
- Design and execute comprehensive toxicology programs, including in vitro and in vivo studies, risk assessments, and safety evaluations
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate toxicological insights into product development processes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and team members
- Prepare and review toxicology reports, regulatory submissions, and scientific publications
- Stay abreast of emerging toxicological science and regulatory changes, adapting company strategies accordingly
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Proven track record of leading toxicology studies and teams in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and toxicology principles
- Experience in risk assessment and safety evaluation methodologies
Preferred:
- Experience in strategic planning and project management within toxicology
- Familiarity with GLP and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Published author in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in toxicological testing methodologies and risk assessment frameworks
- Proficient in data analysis software and toxicological databases
- Experience with quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling and other predictive toxicology techniques
