Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Tax Auditing to lead our comprehensive tax auditing strategy, ensuring compliance and optimizing our tax position across multiple jurisdictions. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in tax regulations and audit processes to drive continuous improvement, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence within the tax function.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of tax audits, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations
- Oversee the development and implementation of audit methodologies, frameworks, and documentation practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risks, identify opportunities, and enhance tax compliance processes
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of tax professionals, fostering their development and ensuring high performance
- Act as the primary liaison with external tax authorities and auditors, managing relationships and negotiations effectively
- Stay abreast of evolving tax laws and regulations, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in tax auditing or related fields, with a focus on corporate taxation
- Strong understanding of tax regulations across various jurisdictions and experience managing complex audits
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Taxation, Accounting, or related field
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent
- Experience with tax technology tools and software solutions
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of tax compliance and auditing standards
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Experience utilizing data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency
