Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this fully remote role, you will leverage your expertise in tax compliance and regulations to ensure that our organization adheres to all federal, state, and local tax laws while maximizing efficiencies and minimizing liabilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure timely and accurate filings.
- Conduct comprehensive tax research to stay updated on the latest tax regulations and interpret their impact on the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation and financial information for tax-related projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies that align with company goals and compliance requirements.
- Provide guidance and support during tax audits, responding to inquiries and preparing necessary documentation.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their potential effects on the organization.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in tax preparation and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience with tax preparation software and financial reporting tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
- Experience in tax planning and strategy development.
- Familiarity with international tax regulations and compliance.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Intuit ProConnect, Drake Tax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze financial data and translate it into actionable tax strategies.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial modeling.
