We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Storage Engineering Manager to join the dynamic engineering team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of storage engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Architect and implement robust storage architectures that meet evolving business requirements and ensure data integrity and security
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance storage performance, availability, and cost-efficiency across on-premises and cloud environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define storage requirements, develop solutions, and support integration efforts
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement processes for storage hardware and software solutions
- Establish and enforce best practices for storage management, monitoring, and capacity planning
- Utilize data analysis to identify trends, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in storage engineering or system administration with a focus on enterprise storage solutions
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing high-performing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, object storage, and cloud storage solutions
- Experience with storage management tools and performance monitoring solutions
- Familiarity with data protection strategies, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues
Preferred:
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with a focus on their storage offerings
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Storage Engineer (CSE) or similar
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in storage networking protocols (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB)
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation and reporting
- Experience with storage virtualization technologies and data deduplication
