Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled SMT Process Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SMT processes, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of SMT equipment.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement, leading initiatives to enhance yield rates and reduce defects.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality assurance, and production, to ensure seamless integration of new products into manufacturing.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process-related issues and implement corrective actions to mitigate recurrence.
- Train and mentor production staff on best practices in SMT processes and equipment operation.
- Maintain documentation of processes, work instructions, and process flows to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in SMT process engineering or related manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record of improving SMT processes and troubleshooting complex manufacturing challenges.
- Strong understanding of SMT assembly processes, including solder paste printing, component placement, and reflow soldering.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced SMT technologies, including selective soldering and automated optical inspection (AOI).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with CAD tools and manufacturing simulation software.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in SMT assembly equipment, including pick-and-place machines and reflow ovens.
- Experience with process optimization tools, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with IPC standards and quality control methodologies.
