Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the dental assisting team, ensuring efficient patient care and adherence to the highest standards of clinical excellence. Responsibilities
- Supervise and train dental assistants, ensuring proficiency in clinical procedures and patient interaction
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, providing chairside support and ensuring optimal patient comfort
- Manage patient flow and appointment scheduling to optimize practice efficiency
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement protocols for infection control and patient safety
- Conduct inventory management, ensuring that dental supplies and equipment are adequately stocked and maintained
- Foster a positive team culture and promote continuous improvement in dental assisting practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent qualification
- 3+ years of experience in a dental assisting role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory position
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care and team collaboration
Preferred:
- Experience with dental software management systems
- Certifications in radiology and CPR
- Ability to speak a second language is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Familiarity with digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and procedures
