Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Lead Radial Drill Press Operator specializing in plastic manufacturing to join our dynamic production team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in operating radial drill presses to enhance our manufacturing processes, ensure product quality, and lead a team of operators in achieving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of radial drill presses to ensure efficient production of plastic components.
- Lead and mentor a team of drill press operators, providing training on best practices and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and optimize workflow.
- Conduct regular quality checks and inspections on finished products, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures within the production area, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
- Document production metrics and report on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience operating radial drill presses, preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and material properties related to plastic manufacturing.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery and programming.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in operating radial drill presses and other machining equipment.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
