Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse to join our dedicated mental health team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional psychiatric care, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes in a supportive and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient needs.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring efficacy and side effects, while providing patient education.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients and their families, utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment for patients.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing and mental health care.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Current and valid Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in an advanced practice role.
- Strong understanding of pharmacotherapy and evidence-based treatment modalities for mental health disorders.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a telehealth or remote care setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telemedicine platforms.
- Ability to conduct assessments and provide care to diverse patient populations with varying mental health needs.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in psychiatric assessment tools and diagnostic criteria.
- Proficiency in telehealth technologies and virtual care delivery.
- Knowledge of medication management software and EHR systems.
