Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Prosthetics Lab Technician to join our innovative prosthetics team, where you'll assist in the fabrication and fitting of prosthetic devices designed to enhance the quality of life for patients. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, fabrication, and modification of prosthetic devices under the supervision of senior technicians and prosthetists.
- Prepare materials and components for the prosthetic manufacturing process, ensuring quality and precision in all outputs.
- Conduct measurements and fittings for patients, taking care to document specifications accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and health protocols.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to gather feedback on the performance of prosthetic devices and implement improvements as necessary.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Prosthetics and Orthotics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of prosthetic device designs and manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
Preferred:
- Internship or practical experience in a prosthetics lab or related setting.
- Familiarity with CAD software and 3D printing technologies.
- Experience with patient interaction and understanding of basic clinical procedures.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Knowledge of materials used in prosthetics, including thermoplastics, composites, and metals.
- Experience with hand tools and machinery used in the fabrication of prosthetic devices.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications for documentation and communication, including MS Office Suite.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while being self-motivated.
