Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Product Development Actuary to join our innovative actuarial team. In this entry-level role, you will support the development and pricing of new insurance products while gaining practical experience in actuarial analysis, risk assessment, and data modeling. You will collaborate closely with senior actuaries to learn the intricacies of product development and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional value to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the pricing and development of new insurance products under the guidance of senior actuaries.
- Conduct actuarial analyses using statistical methods and software tools to inform product decisions.
- Support the research and analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of product features with customer needs and company objectives.
- Participate in the documentation of actuarial methodologies and assumptions used in product development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam (e.g., Exam P, FM, or comparable).
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software, such as R or Python.
- Basic understanding of insurance products and principles of risk management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship experience in actuarial roles or related fields.
- Familiarity with actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Interest in pursuing further actuarial exams and professional development.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling.
- Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
