Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and insightful Political Anthropologist to join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will engage deeply with communities to understand the cultural, political, and social dynamics that shape human experiences. Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to analyze political behaviors, social movements, and cultural patterns across various communities.
- Develop comprehensive ethnographic studies that provide context and nuance to political phenomena.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate anthropological insights into broader research initiatives and policy discussions.
- Present findings through reports, presentations, and publications, ensuring complex ideas are communicated effectively to diverse audiences.
- Engage with local communities to foster trust and build relationships that facilitate meaningful research.
- Stay updated on current events and emerging trends in political anthropology to inform research agendas and methodologies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Anthropology, Political Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience conducting fieldwork and qualitative research in political contexts.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with marginalized communities or in politically sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with various research methodologies, including participatory action research and ethnographic techniques.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals or contributions to relevant conferences.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
- Experience with digital ethnography and online research methods.
- Strong competency in statistical analysis and familiarity with quantitative research tools (e.g., SPSS, R).
