Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Political Anthropologist to join our interdisciplinary research team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in political anthropology to explore the complex dynamics of power, culture, and society. You will lead research initiatives that inform policy-making and contribute to a deeper understanding of political behaviors across diverse communities.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research projects that investigate political systems, cultural practices, and social movements.
- Lead the analysis of ethnographic data, synthesizing findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate anthropological perspectives into broader research agendas.
- Publish high-impact research papers and reports that advance the field of political anthropology and contribute to public discourse.
- Mentor junior researchers and provide guidance on methodological approaches and best practices in political anthropology.
- Engage with community stakeholders and policymakers to ensure research relevance and applicability.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Anthropology, Political Science, or a related field with a strong focus on political anthropology.
- 10+ years of experience conducting research in political anthropology or a closely related discipline.
- Proven track record of published research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating on large-scale research projects.
- Familiarity with policy analysis and advocacy in relation to anthropological research.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding from governmental and non-governmental sources.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, SPSS).
- Familiarity with digital ethnography and online research methodologies.
