We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Endowed Chair Professor of Petroleum Engineering to lead our esteemed program. This role requires an individual who is not only an expert in petroleum engineering but also a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation in energy technologies, research, and education. Responsibilities
- Lead the petroleum engineering department by developing and implementing innovative research initiatives and academic programs that align with industry needs.
- Conduct and publish high-impact research in areas such as reservoir engineering, drilling technology, and sustainable energy solutions.
- Mentor and guide faculty, staff, and students in research methodologies, academic excellence, and professional development.
- Collaborate with industry partners and stakeholders to foster relationships that enhance research opportunities and student job placements.
- Develop and deliver high-quality instruction in petroleum engineering courses, ensuring alignment with contemporary practices and technologies.
- Participate in departmental and university governance, contributing to strategic planning and program assessments.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in academia, research, or industry, with a strong record of leadership and program development.
- Demonstrated expertise in petroleum engineering research and a robust publication record in reputable journals.
- Experience in securing research funding from government, industry, and private foundations.
- Proven commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in academic settings.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a leadership role within an academic department or research center.
- Strong network within the petroleum engineering industry and related disciplines.
- Experience with interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
