Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Personnel Security Manager to oversee and enhance our personnel security programs. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and managing security policies and procedures to safeguard our workforce and sensitive information. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with security regulations and foster a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage personnel security policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and best practices.
- Conduct thorough background checks and security clearances for employees and contractors, ensuring adherence to established security protocols.
- Collaborate with HR and management to develop training programs that educate staff on security policies and promote a culture of security awareness.
- Monitor and report on security incidents, conducting investigations as necessary to mitigate risks and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory changes related to personnel security.
- Serve as a point of contact for security-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in personnel security or a related field, with a strong understanding of security policies and procedures.
- Experience conducting background investigations and security assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred:
- Certification in security management (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP)).
- Experience in a managerial role, demonstrating leadership capabilities and strategic thinking.
- Knowledge of federal security regulations and compliance requirements.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in security risk assessment tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with security management software and systems.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and security compliance frameworks.
