Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Park Police Chief to lead our dedicated team in ensuring the safety and security of our parks and recreational areas. In this pivotal role, you will develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance public safety, foster community relations, and maintain order within our natural spaces. Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor park police officers, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and community-oriented policing.
- Develop and implement comprehensive law enforcement policies and procedures tailored to park environments, ensuring compliance with legal standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to enhance law enforcement strategies and address public safety concerns.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive law enforcement experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of law enforcement practices, community policing principles, and park management issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective training programs for law enforcement personnel.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in managing law enforcement in park or recreational settings.
- Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) or equivalent leadership certification.
