Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Outpatient Interviewing Clerk to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be instrumental in facilitating patient intake processes, ensuring accurate data collection, and providing essential support to our outpatient services. Responsibilities
- Conduct patient interviews to gather comprehensive information regarding medical history, personal details, and insurance coverage.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient data entered into electronic health records (EHR).
- Verify patient identification and eligibility, coordinating with insurance providers as necessary.
- Assist patients with navigating through outpatient services, answering queries and providing necessary documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive patient information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth patient flow and timely service delivery.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or related fields is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred:
- Experience in patient scheduling or medical billing is a plus.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
