Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Non-Representational Metal Sculptor to join our creative team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to bring abstract concepts to life through innovative metalwork, pushing the boundaries of traditional sculpture and exploring the interplay of form, space, and material.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design original non-representational sculptures that reflect contemporary themes and aesthetics.
- Utilize a variety of metalworking techniques, including welding, forging, and casting, to create intricate and dynamic sculptures.
- Collaborate with other artists and designers to integrate your work into larger projects and installations.
- Manage the entire sculptural process from initial sketches to final installation, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Engage with audiences through exhibitions, workshops, and community events, articulating the vision and story behind your work.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols in metalworking and fabrication.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in metal sculpting with a strong portfolio showcasing non-representational works.
- Expertise in various metalworking techniques, including but not limited to MIG/TIG welding, metal casting, and metal fabrication.
- Strong understanding of design principles, spatial awareness, and the ability to conceptualize three-dimensional forms.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey artistic concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mixed media and interdisciplinary projects, integrating different materials and art forms.
- Background in fine arts or a related field, with formal training in sculpture or metalworking.
- Exposure to public art projects or collaborative installations is a plus.
