Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Meter Reading Supervisor to oversee and enhance our meter reading operations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of meter reading, while fostering a culture of safety and accountability among the team. As a leader, you will implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the performance of our meter reading processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of meter readers, ensuring they meet performance standards and productivity metrics.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze meter reading data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to meter readings and customer service inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all meter reading activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, operational metrics, and improvement initiatives to management.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in utility operations or related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of meter reading processes and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance improvements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) or automated meter reading (AMR) technologies.
- Knowledge of utility regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
- Project management experience within a utility or operational context.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel or SQL.
- Familiarity with GIS applications and meter reading software.
- Understanding of utility billing systems and customer information systems.
