Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Social Work Supervisor to lead our team of social workers in delivering high-quality patient-centered care. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the social work department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing guidance and mentorship to staff while fostering an environment of collaboration and support.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor social work staff, providing clinical oversight and guidance to enhance their professional development and skills
- Ensure that social work services are compliant with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate ongoing training sessions for social work staff to maintain best practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans
- Support the development of social work policies and procedures to improve service delivery and patient outcomes
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to address social, emotional, and financial barriers to care
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- 5+ years of experience in medical social work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and social work best practices
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Certification in a specialized area of social work practice (e.g., palliative care, geriatrics)
