Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Billing Manager to oversee and optimize our billing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing team, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and streamlining processes to enhance revenue cycle efficiency. You will play a critical role in maintaining compliance and fostering a culture of excellence in service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the medical billing team to ensure optimal performance and professional development
- Oversee the submission of claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Analyze billing processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding claims, and manage denial resolutions
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and improve patient satisfaction
- Conduct regular audits of billing practices to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies
- Provide training and support to staff on billing software and coding systems
- Generate reports and metrics to assess billing performance and identify areas for improvement
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing codes, billing regulations, and insurance processes
- Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of improving billing processes
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is a plus
- Experience with revenue cycle management and compliance audits
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement methodologies
