Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Terminal Director to oversee and optimize the operational efficiency of our marine terminal facilities. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective handling of marine cargo operations while driving improvements and fostering a culture of excellence within the terminal.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance terminal performance, including berth scheduling, cargo handling, and logistics coordination
- Lead and manage terminal operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices
- Oversee terminal budgeting and financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data analytics to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions
- Lead, mentor, and develop terminal staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in marine terminal operations or related fields, with a proven track record of leadership
- Strong knowledge of marine cargo handling procedures, logistics, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting and cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience with terminal automation systems and technologies
- Advanced degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven ability to lead large teams and manage complex projects
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in terminal management software and data analytics tools
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics and marine operations
- Knowledge of safety management systems and environmental compliance
