Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished educator to join our institution as an Endowed Chair in Literacy Education. This esteemed position will not only champion innovative approaches to literacy instruction but also drive research initiatives that enhance literacy outcomes across diverse educational settings.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of groundbreaking literacy curricula that address the needs of a varied student population.
- Engage in and promote scholarly research focused on literacy practices, outcomes, and pedagogical advancements.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to integrate literacy education across curricula and community programs.
- Mentor and support faculty in literacy-focused research and teaching methodologies.
- Establish partnerships with local schools and organizations to promote literacy initiatives beyond the campus.
- Present findings and insights at national and international conferences to disseminate innovative literacy practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Education, Literacy Studies, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in literacy education, including leadership roles.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly publications and successful grant acquisition.
- Proven ability to create and implement effective literacy programs.
Preferred:
- Experience in teacher education or professional development in literacy.
- Familiarity with the latest technological tools and resources in literacy education.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational practices.
