Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hydraulic Pile Hammer Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of hydraulic pile hammers on various construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and optimizing performance. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the efficient installation of deep foundations, and you will play a pivotal role in mentoring junior operators while collaborating with project managers and engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operation of hydraulic pile hammers to install piles accurately and efficiently in line with project specifications
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Monitor pile driving processes and adjust parameters to maintain alignment with engineering requirements and safety standards
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop and implement project plans, including timelines and milestones
- Mentor and train junior operators, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of safety and efficiency
- Document progress and report on project status, including any challenges or delays, while proposing solutions
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies related to safety and environmental practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience operating hydraulic pile hammers in various construction environments
- Strong understanding of pile driving techniques and equipment
- Valid operator's license and certifications relevant to hydraulic pile driving operations
- Proven track record of adhering to safety standards and regulations
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Preferred:
- Experience in leading and managing teams on construction sites
- Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles and soil characteristics
- Experience with various types of pile systems, including concrete, steel, and wood
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating hydraulic pile driving equipment and related machinery
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with GPS and other positioning systems used in pile installation
