Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mill Manager to oversee all operations within our state-of-the-art milling facility. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products while maintaining a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. You'll lead a skilled team and be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the mill, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with company objectives and drive profitability
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of mill operators and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and safety
- Oversee maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability
- Analyze production metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards, promoting a safe workplace
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering, to drive operational excellence
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Production Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in mill management or similar roles within the manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of milling processes, equipment, and technologies
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in production management software and ERP systems
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems
- Experience with process control systems and automation technologies
