Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Head of German Department to lead our efforts in expanding and enhancing our German language services. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all departmental operations, driving innovative program development, and ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets the needs of our German-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy and vision for the German Department, aligning with the company's objectives and market demands
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of German language programs and initiatives
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of language professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, educational institutions, and industry partners
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards within the department
- Analyze departmental performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement
- Drive initiatives that promote cultural awareness and engagement within German-speaking communities
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Linguistics, Education, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in language program management or educational leadership
- Fluency in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive departmental success
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural contexts
Preferred:
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design for language programs
- Familiarity with technology-enhanced language learning tools and methodologies
- Strong network within the German-speaking educational or professional community
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in learning management systems (LMS) and digital content creation tools
- Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methodologies for language proficiency
- Experience with data analysis tools to track and report on departmental performance
