Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Formulation Manager to lead the development and optimization of innovative formulation processes. This role is pivotal in driving product excellence by leveraging your expertise in formulation science to enhance product performance, stability, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead formulation development projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with product specifications and market needs.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize formulations, using statistical analysis and design of experiments (DOE) methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing to ensure seamless product development.
- Conduct stability studies and performance evaluations to assess product shelf life and efficacy.
- Develop and maintain formulation documentation, including specifications, protocols, and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior formulators and scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in formulation development within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consumer goods industry.
- Strong knowledge of formulation principles, stability testing, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of managing projects and leading teams successfully.
Preferred:
- Experience with various dosage forms, including solids, liquids, and semi-solids.
- Familiarity with Quality by Design (QbD) principles and their application in formulation development.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in formulation software tools and analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and Spectroscopy.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools and methodologies for data interpretation.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory guidelines.
