Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Social Work Supervisor to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional services at the intersection of social work and the criminal justice system. In this role, you will provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care to individuals involved in legal processes.
Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership:
- Oversee the daily operations of the forensic social work team, providing direction and support to staff in case management and service delivery.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings to discuss case progress, challenges, and strategies for intervention.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and continuous learning among team members.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement evidence-based practices and policies to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in all forensic social work practices.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with law enforcement, legal professionals, and community organizations to enhance service coordination.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and rights within the legal system, ensuring access to necessary resources and services.
- Serve as a liaison between the social work team and external stakeholders, promoting awareness of forensic social work services.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW or equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience in social work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a forensic or clinical setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the criminal justice system and its impact on individuals and families.
- Strong assessment, intervention, and case management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of culturally competent practices.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and practices.
- Additional certifications in forensic social work or related fields.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in case management software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Ability to utilize data analysis tools to inform program evaluation and improvement.
- Strong understanding of documentation requirements and legal standards in forensic social work.
