Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Chief of Forensic Psychiatry to lead our innovative forensic psychiatric services. In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategic direction, oversee clinical operations, and enhance the quality of care for individuals involved in the legal system. Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for forensic psychiatric programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the efficacy of forensic evaluations, risk assessments, and treatment modalities.
- Collaborate with legal professionals, law enforcement, and community organizations to advocate for mental health awareness and the rights of individuals with psychiatric disorders.
- Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health professionals in delivering high-quality forensic services.
- Conduct research and publish findings to contribute to the field of forensic psychiatry and inform evidence-based practices.
- Engage in public speaking and training opportunities to educate stakeholders on the intersection of mental health and the legal system.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry and subspecialty training in Forensic Psychiatry.
- 10+ years of experience in forensic psychiatry, including clinical practice, supervision, and leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting forensic evaluations, risk assessments, and providing expert testimony.
- Strong understanding of legal standards and ethical considerations in forensic psychiatry.
Preferred:
- Experience in program development and implementation within forensic settings.
- Prior experience in research and publication in relevant fields.
- Active involvement in professional organizations related to forensic psychiatry.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and data management systems.
- Familiarity with telepsychiatry platforms and remote patient management tools.
- Understanding of statistical analysis software for research purposes.
