Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Food Service Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the operational excellence of our food service offerings, ensuring top-quality service and compliance with health and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with the Food Service Manager to enhance our customer experience while optimizing our food service processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily food service operations, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop menu offerings that meet customer preferences and dietary needs
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in procurement processes to maintain optimal stock
- Train, mentor, and supervise food service staff to ensure high performance and service quality
- Assist in implementing standard operating procedures and best practices across all food service activities
- Conduct inspections of food preparation areas and service areas to maintain cleanliness and compliance with health regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any customer inquiries or complaints promptly
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in food service management or related field
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a multi-unit food service environment
- ServSafe certification or equivalent
- Familiarity with menu development and cost control strategies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software
- Ability to analyze sales and inventory data for informed decision making
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary guidelines
