Role Overview
We are seeking a Flight Test Engineering Manager who will lead our flight testing initiatives and ensure the highest standards of safety and performance for our aerospace products. This role is critical in overseeing the planning, execution, and analysis of flight tests, while managing a team of skilled engineers dedicated to advancing our innovative aircraft technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of flight test planning and execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal safety protocols.
- Oversee the development and implementation of flight test strategies, including test conditions, objectives, and success criteria.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, systems engineering, and program management, to ensure alignment on flight test objectives.
- Direct the analysis of flight test data to assess aircraft performance, identify issues, and drive improvements.
- Mentor and develop team members in flight test methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that impact flight testing operations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in flight testing, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of flight test methodologies, data analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with flight test planning tools and data acquisition systems.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex flight test programs.
- Experience with advanced aircraft systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or commercial jetliners.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in flight test instrumentation and data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Proficiency in aircraft performance analysis and simulation tools.
- Familiarity with aircraft systems integration and testing.
