Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Farm Operations Supervisor to oversee daily agricultural activities and ensure optimal productivity on our farm. In this role, you will manage a diverse team, implement best practices for crop management, and drive initiatives that align with our sustainability objectives while maximizing yield and quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily farm operations, ensuring adherence to agricultural best practices and safety standards
- Lead, train, and mentor farm staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Monitor crop health and implement integrated pest management strategies to optimize yield
- Manage the scheduling of planting, harvesting, and maintenance activities to align with seasonal cycles
- Collaborate with agronomy experts to evaluate soil health and recommend amendments for optimal crop performance
- Maintain accurate records of farming activities, inputs, and outputs to support data-driven decision making
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement of seeds, fertilizers, and other essential resources
- Implement sustainable farming practices that reduce environmental impact and enhance soil health
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in farm operations or agricultural management
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team in a dynamic agricultural environment
- Strong understanding of crop production techniques and integrated pest management
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field
- Experience with precision agriculture technologies and data analytics
- Familiarity with organic farming practices and sustainability initiatives
- Certification in farm management or agronomy is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in farm management software and data tracking tools
- Experience with irrigation systems, soil testing, and crop monitoring technologies
- Knowledge of machinery operation and maintenance for farm equipment
