Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Expeditor to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the efficient flow of materials and information throughout the supply chain, ensuring that all operational processes run smoothly. You will leverage your expertise to optimize inventory management and enhance supplier relationships while leading a team of expeditors to meet critical business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of expeditors, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in operational processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory management, including demand forecasting and reorder point analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and resolving any supply chain issues that may arise.
- Conduct regular training sessions for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge of supply chain operations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management or logistics, with a focus on expediting and inventory control.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Certifications in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCP) are a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in supply chain management software and tools, including ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques to drive operational improvements.
