Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Junior EMS Helicopter Pilot to join our air medical transport team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. In this role, you will be responsible for safely piloting helicopters in emergency medical scenarios, providing critical care transport to patients in need. Responsibilities
- Operate helicopters in accordance with all FAA regulations and company policies, ensuring the highest level of safety
- Conduct pre-flight inspections to verify the aircraft is in optimal condition for flight
- Coordinate with medical staff to understand the specifics of each mission and ensure proper loading and unloading of patients
- Maintain accurate flight logs and records, documenting each flight and any notable incidents
- Participate in training and drills to enhance skills and maintain readiness for emergency situations
- Collaborate with dispatch and ground teams to facilitate efficient mission planning and execution
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Private Pilot License with Rotorcraft-Helicopter rating
- Minimum of 500 hours total flight time
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- Knowledge of aviation safety and emergency procedures
Preferred:
- Experience in emergency medical services (EMS) or similar operational environments
- Additional flight hours or specialized certifications (e.g., IFR, ATP)
- Experience with night flying or instrument-rated operations
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in helicopter navigation and flight operation systems
- Familiarity with flight planning software and tools
- Strong understanding of air traffic control communication protocols
