Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Pilot to lead our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Operations. In this critical role, you will oversee all flight operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence while coordinating closely with medical teams and regulatory agencies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational protocols for EMS flight operations to ensure the highest safety standards.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of pilots, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with medical personnel to ensure seamless integration between flight operations and patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and company policies related to flight operations.
- Conduct regular training, evaluations, and safety audits to maintain operational readiness and pilot proficiency.
- Analyze operational metrics and implement strategies for improving efficiency and performance in EMS operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of helicopter pilot experience, with at least 5 years in EMS operations.
- Current and valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with helicopter rating.
- Experience in leading flight operations and managing pilot teams.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and EMS operational standards.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced avionics and flight management systems.
- Prior experience as a Chief Pilot or in a similar leadership role within EMS or air medical services.
- Certification in flight safety management systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in helicopter operations, including flight planning, navigation, and emergency procedures.
- Proficient in the use of flight management software and safety management systems.
- Understanding of medical transport protocols and patient care dynamics.
