Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Director of Ecommerce Analytics to lead our analytics team in transforming data into actionable insights that drive our ecommerce strategy. In this role, you will oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics frameworks that enhance our understanding of customer behavior, optimize the online shopping experience, and ultimately drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in analytics methodologies
- Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy that aligns with our ecommerce goals and objectives
- Design and oversee the execution of advanced analytical models to predict customer behavior and inform marketing strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, and IT to ensure data-driven decision-making
- Utilize A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other experimental designs to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of changes on customer engagement and conversion rates
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, translating complex data findings into strategic business outcomes
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of ecommerce initiatives and report on performance regularly
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in analytics, with a focus on ecommerce or digital marketing
- Proven experience leading analytics teams and driving data-driven strategies
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages, such as SQL, Python, or R
- Deep understanding of ecommerce metrics, customer segmentation, and online shopping behavior
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience with ecommerce platforms, such as Shopify, Magento, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Experience in machine learning and predictive modeling techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar
- Experience with database management and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Snowflake)
- Proficient in data manipulation and analysis using Python, R, or similar languages
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
