Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Dramatic Reader to join our creative team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and emotionally resonant readings of diverse literary works, helping to elevate the experience of our audience through your unique voice and interpretation. Your leadership will guide a team of readers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages artistic expression and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of dramatic readers, providing guidance on performance techniques, character interpretation, and emotional delivery.
- Curate and select literary works that align with our mission and resonate with our audience, ensuring a diverse and inclusive selection.
- Collaborate with creative teams to develop unique production concepts and enhance the overall storytelling experience.
- Conduct rehearsals, offering constructive feedback and facilitating discussions to enhance performance quality.
- Engage with our audience through live readings, interactive sessions, and community events, fostering a strong connection between the readers and listeners.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, implementing strategies for continuous improvement and artistic growth.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in dramatic reading, voice acting, or a related field, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Exceptional vocal skills, including clarity, expressiveness, and the ability to convey a wide range of emotions.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring artistic teams, with a strong understanding of performance dynamics.
- Passion for literature and storytelling, with an ability to analyze and interpret texts effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience in producing or directing live performances or audio productions.
- Familiarity with various literary genres and styles, including poetry, prose, and dramatic texts.
- Background in theater, performing arts, or voice coaching.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in audio recording and editing software, such as Audacity or Adobe Audition.
- Familiarity with sound equipment and live event production.
- Experience with virtual performance platforms and remote collaboration tools.
