Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Optometry to lead our dynamic team in delivering outstanding eye care services and innovative solutions. This fully remote role is pivotal in shaping our clinical practices, enhancing patient outcomes, and driving the growth of our optometry services across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement best-in-class optometry practices that ensure exceptional patient care and clinical excellence.
- Lead and mentor a team of optometrists and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Develop and optimize clinical protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Analyze patient care metrics and implement data-driven strategies to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and innovations into the practice.
- Drive the strategic vision for optometry services, including expansion opportunities and service diversification.
- Engage with key stakeholders to advocate for best practices in eye health and build strong community relationships.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- D.O. or O.D. degree from an accredited optometry school.
- 8+ years of clinical optometry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing clinical protocols and procedures.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in optometry.
- Exceptional ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Preferred:
- Experience with telehealth and digital health innovations in optometry.
- Previous involvement in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Active involvement in professional optometric organizations and continuing education.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and practice management software.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and technologies used in modern optometry.
- Strong knowledge of teleoptometry platforms and virtual care models.
