Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Database Management to lead our database architecture, design, and implementation initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing our data systems, ensuring high availability, and driving performance improvements across diverse database technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database management strategies with business objectives, enabling data-driven decision-making and insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive database management strategy that aligns with the overall business goals of [$COMPANY_NAME].
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
- Oversee database architecture, including both SQL and NoSQL technologies, and drive best practices for data modeling, backup, and recovery.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in database management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
- Proficient in NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions, particularly AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
- Experience with database automation tools and orchestration frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with database design methodologies.
- Experience with database monitoring tools such as DataDog, New Relic, or similar solutions.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and reporting.
