Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join our financial services team, where your expertise will drive data-driven decision-making processes that significantly impact credit risk management strategies. In this role, you'll leverage advanced analytical techniques to assess creditworthiness, providing critical insights that guide lending decisions for our diverse clientele.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessments for potential and existing clients using financial statements, credit reports, and market data
- Develop and refine credit scoring models and methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards
- Monitor credit portfolios, identifying trends and potential risks while recommending actionable strategies to mitigate exposure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop policies and procedures that enhance credit risk management and compliance
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, articulating complex financial concepts and credit risk assessments clearly and effectively
- Mentor junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the credit analysis team
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in credit analysis or a related financial role, with a strong understanding of credit risk assessment techniques
- Proficient in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting using tools such as Excel, SQL, and relevant statistical software
- In-depth knowledge of credit markets, regulatory requirements, and industry trends
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data
Preferred:
- Experience with credit risk management software and platforms
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent
- Experience working within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools, including Excel, SQL, and Python/R for financial modeling and statistical analysis
- Familiarity with credit risk assessment frameworks and methodologies
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to present analytical findings
