Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Court Security Manager to oversee the safety and security operations within our court facilities. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing security protocols to safeguard personnel, visitors, and sensitive judicial processes. Your expertise will ensure a secure environment while fostering cooperation with law enforcement and judicial staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures tailored to court environments, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Lead and mentor a team of security personnel, providing training and performance evaluations to enhance operational effectiveness
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures
- Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies to establish and maintain effective communication and response protocols
- Respond to and manage security incidents, ensuring appropriate documentation and reporting
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems, including video surveillance, access control, and alarm systems
- Develop and conduct emergency preparedness drills and training sessions to ensure readiness for potential security threats
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in security management, preferably within a judicial or correctional environment
- Strong knowledge of security technologies and systems, including surveillance and access control
- Proven ability to develop and enforce security policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Preferred:
- Certification in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP) is highly desirable
- Experience in emergency management and crisis response planning
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory aspects of court security
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in security management software and incident reporting systems
- Experience with physical security measures and technologies
- Understanding of threat assessment methodologies and risk management frameworks
