Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Contact Lens Specialist to join our innovative team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in contact lens fitting, patient education, and ocular health to lead our contact lens department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the contact lens fitting process, ensuring accurate assessments and tailored solutions for each patient
- Lead and mentor a team of contact lens specialists, fostering a culture of continuous education and professional development
- Collaborate with optometrists to develop treatment plans and ensure seamless patient care
- Educate patients on proper contact lens usage, care, and hygiene practices to promote ocular health
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance the contact lens department's offerings
- Manage inventory and ordering of contact lens supplies and equipment to maintain operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Contact Lens Specialist or in a similar role within an optometric or ophthalmic setting
- Certification from the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) or equivalent
- Strong understanding of various contact lens types, fitting techniques, and ocular health
- Excellent communication and patient management skills
- Proven ability to lead a team and drive departmental success
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced contact lens technologies, including specialty lenses and orthokeratology
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory position
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in contact lens fitting and patient assessment tools
- Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems for patient management
- Familiarity with the latest contact lens products and ocular health technologies
