Role Overview
We are seeking a Construction Health and Safety Manager to lead our commitment to creating a safe and compliant work environment across our construction projects. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and fostering a culture of safety among all employees and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and programs that comply with federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures
- Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports, ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent future occurrences
- Deliver safety training sessions and workshops to enhance employee awareness and engagement in safety practices
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety compliance on all job sites
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding health and safety matters
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in health and safety management in the construction industry
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of effectively managing safety programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification
- Experience in implementing safety management systems such as ISO 45001
- Familiarity with construction project management software
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in safety management software and tools for tracking incidents and compliance
- Ability to utilize data analysis tools to assess safety performance and trends
- Understanding of risk management principles and methodologies
