Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive Junior Construction Health and Safety Technician to join our team and support the implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs across various construction sites. This role is crucial in fostering a safe working environment by assisting in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential hazards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Support the development and implementation of health and safety training programs for construction personnel
- Help maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and safety audits
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure that safety protocols are effectively communicated and adhered to
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, providing reports and recommendations for preventive measures
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field
- 0-2 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in the construction industry
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and general construction safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and CPR
- Experience with safety management software or tools
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
