Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Collections Manager to lead our team in optimizing our collections processes and enhancing cash flow management. This role is critical in ensuring that our accounts receivable are effectively managed while fostering strong customer relationships to facilitate timely payments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve collections and reduce outstanding receivables
- Manage and mentor the collections team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals
- Analyze aging reports and establish priorities for collections activities
- Interface with internal departments to resolve payment discrepancies and enhance customer satisfaction
- Prepare regular reports on collections performance and present findings to senior management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to collections practices
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage timely payments and address any concerns
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable management
- Proven track record of reducing DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and improving cash flow
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage customer relationships
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience in leading a collections team and implementing process improvements
- Familiarity with legal aspects of collections and debt recovery
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and collections software
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Ability to leverage data analytics to drive collections performance
