Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Claims to lead our claims operations and drive excellence in customer service and operational efficiency. In this pivotal role, you will establish and implement claims management strategies that align with our mission, ensuring that our clients receive timely and fair resolution of their claims while optimizing the overall claims process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive claims strategy that enhances customer experience and operational performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing claims team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Implement data-driven decision-making processes to analyze claims trends and identify areas for operational enhancement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex claims and disputes, utilizing negotiation skills to resolve issues effectively
- Drive the adoption of technology solutions that streamline claims processing and improve efficiency
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on claims performance metrics and strategic initiatives
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in claims management or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful claims strategies
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and industry standards
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on stakeholder engagement
Preferred:
- Experience in a fully remote leadership role with a distributed team
- Advanced degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field
- Familiarity with claims management software and emerging technologies in the insurance sector
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in claims management systems and tools
- Experience with data analytics platforms and reporting tools
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance systems and processes
