Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Managing Partner specializing in Civil Law to lead our legal practice. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of exceptional legal services, driving growth, and fostering a collaborative culture that empowers our team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. Your leadership will play a critical role in establishing our firm as a leader in civil law across diverse sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance our civil law practice, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall vision and objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of attorneys and support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee complex civil litigation cases, providing guidance on case strategy, risk assessment, and resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored legal solutions.
- Drive business development efforts, identifying new opportunities and fostering partnerships within the community.
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and maintain the highest ethical standards in the practice.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 10+ years of experience in civil law, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
- Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience in managing a law firm or significant practice area.
- Proven business development acumen with a strong network of professional relationships.
- Advanced degree or specialized training in civil law or a related field.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Strong understanding of litigation technology and e-discovery processes.
- Familiarity with financial management software relevant to law firm operations.
