Role Overview
We are looking for a visionary VP of Category Management to lead our strategic category initiatives, optimizing our product portfolio to meet market demands and drive revenue growth. In this fully remote position, you will leverage your extensive experience in category management to design and implement strategies that enhance our competitive edge while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business goals, ensuring optimal product assortment and pricing strategies.
- Lead cross-functional teams to enhance category performance through data-driven insights, market analysis, and consumer trends.
- Establish KPIs to measure category performance and make informed decisions that drive profitability and market share.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and partners to enhance product offerings and negotiate favorable terms.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices in category management and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team, instilling a strong sense of accountability and collaboration.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or related fields, with a proven track record of driving category growth.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a history of establishing successful partnerships.
Preferred:
- Experience in e-commerce or retail environments with a focus on consumer goods.
- Advanced degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in category management tools and analytics platforms.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of market analysis tools and methodologies.
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar) to extract insights and drive strategic initiatives.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and inventory management systems.
