Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cargo Operations Manager to lead our logistics and operations team, focusing on optimizing cargo processes, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing strategies to streamline cargo operations while maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cargo operations, ensuring the efficient management of cargo handling, storage, and distribution
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless flow of cargo from origin to destination
- Monitor cargo performance metrics, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Lead a team of logistics professionals, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve operational goals
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in cargo operations or logistics management
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, shipping regulations, and cargo handling procedures
- Proven track record of optimizing operational processes and improving service delivery
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Experience with cargo management software and tools
- Familiarity with international trade regulations and compliance
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
