Responsibilities

- Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor, ensuring books are displayed prominently and accurately.
- Engage with customers through both in-person interactions and digital platforms to enhance their shopping experience.
- Participate in inventory management, including receiving new stock, restocking shelves, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Assist in planning and executing in-store events, including author signings, book clubs, and community outreach initiatives.
- Stay informed about current literary trends, new releases, and bestsellers to provide knowledgeable insights to customers.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in literature, communications, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably in a bookstore or similar setting.
- Strong passion for literature and a deep understanding of various genres and authors.
Preferred:
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse customer base and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
