Role Overview
As a Lead Board Operator at [$COMPANY_NAME], you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the board operations in our state-of-the-art facility. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of board operators, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and adherence to operational standards.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of broadcast equipment, including audio and video mixing consoles, transmission systems, and associated technology.
- Collaborate with production teams to execute live events, ensuring flawless delivery of audio and visual content.
- Monitor broadcast quality in real-time, making adjustments as necessary to meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance operational efficiency and reliability, including regular maintenance of equipment and software.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues during broadcasts, utilizing advanced problem-solving skills to address and resolve challenges swiftly.
- Participate in post-event reviews to analyze performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes for future broadcasts.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a board operator or in a similar technical role within the broadcasting industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of broadcast equipment and software, including familiarity with digital audio and video production systems.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing complex live production environments.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during live broadcasts.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced broadcasting technologies, including IP-based workflows and cloud-based broadcasting solutions.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and compliance standards related to broadcasting.
- Certification in relevant technical areas (e.g., SBE certification) is a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of audio and video mixing consoles, signal routing, and transmission systems.
- Proficiency in broadcast automation systems and editing software.
- Experience with live-streaming platforms and technologies.
