Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Asbestos Abatement Project Manager to lead and manage asbestos remediation projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, overseeing project budgets, timelines, and the coordination of field teams. Your expertise will be crucial in mitigating risks associated with hazardous materials and ensuring safe work practices on-site.
Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, execution, and closing of asbestos abatement projects while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct site assessments to identify asbestos-containing materials and develop comprehensive abatement plans.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Provide training and support to field personnel to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
- Document project progress, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing asbestos abatement projects with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Certification in Asbestos Abatement Management and compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role within the environmental remediation industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of other hazardous materials management and remediation practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance and regulations related to asbestos abatement.
- Experience with risk assessment tools and methodologies.
