Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Aircraft Paint Supervisor to oversee and manage painting operations within our facility. This role is critical in ensuring that our aircraft meet the highest standards of quality and safety while maintaining our commitment to excellence and innovation in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all aircraft painting activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
- Lead and mentor a team of paint technicians, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills in surface preparation, paint application, and finishing techniques
- Develop and implement efficient painting processes and schedules to optimize productivity and meet project timelines
- Perform quality inspections of painted surfaces to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address any paint-related issues and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, labor hours, and project progress, reporting to management on key metrics and improvements
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols in the use and disposal of paint materials and chemicals
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft painting or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of aircraft painting processes, materials, and equipment
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in aircraft painting or related disciplines
- Experience with advanced painting techniques and equipment, including electrostatic spray systems
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including FAA regulations, related to aircraft painting
